Hi I’m Mckenzie
With a passion for creative expression and a dedication to teaching, I have spent years helping students of all ages—from 2nd graders to adults in their 70s—explore and develop their artistic voice. As a private tutor, I have led creative arts classes of up to 30 students while offering personalized one-on-one instruction. One of my proudest achievements as a tutor was guiding a high school student through the creation of her entire art school portfolio, ultimately helping her gain admission to her dream school—the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.
My journey in the arts has taken me around the world, studying under renowned artists like Johnathan Jay Lee in Hong Kong and refining my craft at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), where my work was exhibited at the Zero Zero Gallery. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan’s Penny Stamps School of Art & Design. I am in my second year at Northwestern University, pursuing a master’s in Information Design and Strategy. This program has allowed me to sharpen my creative and business writing skills, blending artistry with effective communication.
This writing series aims to create a welcoming and inspiring space for writers of all levels to explore, express, and grow.
